John Martinez is a 2023 SS/2B/3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Trinity Preparatory. Medium frame with some physicality to build but plenty of remaining room to fill. Ran a 7.10 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield squaring up to the ball well, uses good footwork to get in a comfortable position, surehanded with the glove and winds up into throws to create good carry across. Right-handed hitter, sets up balanced in the lower half, good rhythm to the use of the hands using a simple swing with high intent to find the barrel consistently and generate good power to the pull side. Good student. Named to 2020 Florida Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
