Steven Ritchie is a 2022 RHP/3B with a 6-0 225 lb. frame from Chesapeake, VA who attends Grassfield. Stocky durable athlete showed good lateral burst on the mound, projectable right-hander. Primary pitcher, worked out the stretch with a high leg lift and drop and drive action that gets downhill clean and extended. Fastball is mostly straight but fills the zone. Advanced feel for the slider, consistent arm slot and release. Shows tight spin and great depth. He mixed his pitches very well with good pitchability. Right handed hitter, displayed present strength and bat speed. His swing is elevated with a slight frontside leak. Rotational barrel path, swings with intent and really ran into a few that looked goos off the bat. There is some pieces to put together to advance his game but overall good athlete with plenty of potential. Good student.
