Bryce Dean is a 2023 SS/RHP, IF, OF with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Corona, CA who attends Corona. He ran a 7.33 second sixty. A primary shortstop with a long lean build with room to add strength to the frame moving forward. On the infield he showed consistent actions with quick feet working well through the ball and carrying his momentum into his throws, the glove works well out front with quick hands into a smooth transfer with easy carry on his accurate throws. In the outfield he showed solid athleticism once again working around the ball well and using his lower half well to produce strong accurate throws with advanced carry. On the mound he works with smooth mechanics as the arm works long through the back up to a high three-quarters arm slot with some whip in the arm as he works well down the hill repeating his delivery at a high rate, the fastball flashed arm side run at times with some heavy actions around the plate in the 80-83 mph range, curveball showed good spin with big late depth, he also mixed in a slider in the mid 70's with some short cutting action. he has some solid projection on the mound with feel for his pitches and room to continue to add strength. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base, the barrel enters the zone steep and direct to the baseball with solid hand eye coordination, he shows the potential to square the ball up more on the barrel with more consistent timing of the swing. Good student.
