2020 Southeast Prospect Showcase
Zachary Thomas is a 2021 3B/RHP, OF with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Jesup, GA who attends Wayne County. He ran a 7.09 second sixty. A primary third baseman with a large physical frame showing strength throughout the build. On the infield he showed confidence with his actions displaying soft hands and solid first step lateral movements in all directions, with his good first step and strong arm at 89 mph across the diamond he projects well at the hot corner. In the outfield he showcased his strong arm once again topping out at 93 mph with easy carry on his throws. On the mound he worked off of his heavy fastball at 83-86 mph hiding it well throughout his delivery with decent drive off his back side coming down the mound, showed a slider in the upper 70's with sharp sweeping action through the hitting zone. He starts his righthanded swing with a slightly open stance, looks to lift the ball to the pull side with strength in the hands and good feel for the barrel. Named to the 2020 Southeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospects List. Excellent student.
