Dakota Secrest is a 2023 3B/RHP, SS, IF, OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Lucasville, OH who attends Northwest. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build and room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.41 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front, gets tall through funnel and can incorporate additional lower half through the ball, shorter arm action on throws across the diamond with some carry out of hand. Similar short arm action in the outfield, young actions working at the ball and will continue to refine, fields the ball out front with present arm strength. Also pitched, high leg kick at start of delivery, creates deception and has a long arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 79 mph with plane and lived down in the zone, opens front side early coming down the mound but filled the strike zone to both sides. Developing feel for curveball with 11-5 shape up to 65 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; loads weight onto back side at start of swing. Long swing path through the zone, projects well with added strength and does a nice job of getting the barrel out front. Incorporates hands well into swing and shows strength off the barrel to all parts of the fields. Very good student.
