Damian Carreon is a 2020 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-8 162 lb. frame from New Braunfels, TX who attends Canyon HS. Medium build with the beginnings of some present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from an even stance with a big stride into contact, deep still hand load, swings hard and is looking to drive the ball, has lots of timing variables in his swing but handles the barrel well and makes consistent contact, hits to all fields. 7.82 runner, runs hard on the bases and plays above his speed. Has sound fundamentals in the infield coming through the ball, has active feet and fields out front, makes accurate throws. Also pitched, hands over head delivery with a compact arm circle in back, has some energy at release but holds his delivery together well. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with good arm side running action, throws a short and tight slider for strikes. Hard nosed player who is maxing out his tools well. Very good student.
