Brian Trujillo is a 2023 C/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Fountain Valley, CA who attends Huntington Beach. Lean build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.93 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Employs an even low stance with confident out front receiving actions. Flashed quick footwork gaining ground well from behind the plate with good exchanges creating good momentum into throws topping out at 73 MPH and posting a 2.03 second pop time from behind the plate. Also worked out in the infield. Displayed low athletic actions working to and through the baseball. Flashed low out front funnels with confident glove actions and good transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry across the diamond topping out at 73 MPH to first base. Right handed hitter. Employs a slightly open, crouched stance with a simple leg lift trigger and linear weight shift into contact. Showed a clean hand path to and through the baseball with a naturally lifted barrel plane creating consistently driven line drives to the middle of the field. Also pitched at the event. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing online with the mound and falling off to the first base side at finish. Flashed a long arm action with a slight wrap in the back going to a high three-quarter arm slot at release. Showed the ability to locate a fastball up to 75 MPH to both sides of the plate complementing that with a 11/5 curveball up to 60 miles per hour thrown for consistent strikes keeping hitters off balance.
