Ben Walsh is a 2021 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Leawood, KS who attends Rockhurst HS. Long and lean young build with broad shoulders and lots of physical projection. Has a directional delivery with a high 3/4's arm action that extends well out front, works downhill, repeats his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 77 mph, gets good running action at times down in the zone. Slider is a solid pitch with solid arm speed and a consistent release point with his fastball, has a short downer break. Threw strikes with both pitches and threw to contact in three very clean innings of work. Right handed hitter, hits from an even and balanced stance at the plate, quiet approach, long and fluid swing with the beginnings of some bat speed, can get some jump on the ball, has hitting tools for a young primary pitcher. 7.35 runner who showed some athleticism and lateral range in the infield, also plays the outfield. Strong bet to keep improving as he gets more physically mature. Good student.
