Matt Jones is a 2020 OF/RHP/C with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Jackson, MS who attends Jim Hill HS. Athletic build with broad shoulders and a projectable frame, 7.11 runner in the 60, slightly wider stance with a high back elbow in his set up at the plate. Smooth swing with a short stride, shows present strength and rotational power to the pull side of the field. Consistent hard contact with future power potential in the bat. Gets to the ball quickly in the OF with an aggressive approach to the ball, will play through it and creates momentum to throw. Arm shows accuracy to the bases with developing arm strength. Also pitches, with simple mechanics and an online delivery to the plate. Utilizes a compact arm action and a high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball is straight but he does generate some degree of downhill plane on the fastball, which topped at 73 mph. Solid student.
