PJ Ausmus is a 2018 2B/ with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Legend. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.79 sixty-yard dash. Primary second baseman, travels from a low position to the baseball with athletic footwork. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front and working through transition. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot creating on line carry across the infield, topped at 75 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Lower half works to contact with linear actions generating good shift. Compact, direct path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Showed very good balanced throughout his swing primarily working to the middle of the field. Flashed the ability to turn barrel to contact as well generating solid bat speed. Consistently squared up throughout batting practice. Very good student as well.
