Angel Escudero is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Toa Alta Puerto Rico, PR who attends Academia Discipulos de Cristo. Medium and athletic frame with room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.98 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, low effort delivery that starts with a low leg lift below his belt line, takes his arm back to a quick arm action hiding the ball well through the back, releases from a low 3/4 arm slot, creates a tough angle to the plate, stays tall on his back side prior to working down the mound. Fastball topped out at 84 mph which was tied for an event best, showed the ability to create life out of his hand on the heater and the ability to elevate the pitch, mixed in a sharp 11-5 curveball with lat break as well, feel for a lively changeup as well. Secondary outfielder, receives the ball out in front with athleticism to his actions, showed similar arm strength in the outfield as he did on the mound. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a slightly open stance and a high hand set, compact swing with a line drive plane and approach, simple leg lift trigger into contact. Good student.
