Joel Sarver is a 2020 RHP/IF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Champaign, IL who attends Champaign Central HS. Young athletic build, projects well physically. High leg lift delivery with engery to the plate, tends to drift out front and leave his arm behind, maintains good direction to the plate, 3/4's arm slot. Works mostly with his fastball, topped out at 81 mph with occasional running action, comes over top of the ball at release leaving most of his pitches arm side and will need to stay behind the ball better to get to the glove side. Soft curveball with a short 11/5 break. Right handed hitter, upright narrow stance with a high hand start, good weight transfer with some leverage at contact, line drive swing plane, swings hard and looks to drive the ball. Third base tools on defense and showed his arm strength well.
