Andrew Rantz is a 2021 3B/RHP, IF, OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Topeka, KS who attends Shawnee Heights. Large athletic build with room to fill out and strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary infielder, moves well, plenty of arm strength to stick at the hot corner. Was gunned at 87 mph across the diamond in the infield workout. Glove works well to both sides, gathers well, clean transfer with a solid comprehension for his footwork. At the plate, uses an upright and narrow stance with a longer stride trigger. Looks to release his lower half early to create tension between his upper and lower half. Great pop to all fields when his upper half stays over the baseball. Great feel for the barrel with a raw power tool that will continue to improve as he matures his mechanics at the plate. Excellent student in the classroom as well.
