Ethan Cernohous is a 2018 2B/RHP, C, SS with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Bulverde, TX who attends Smithson Valley. Large frame with long limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.09 sixty-yard dash. Primary second baseman with athletic, sound footwork while traveling to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and worked through transfers with quick, fluid exchanges. Released from a compact three-quarters slot producing downhill carry across the infield, topped at 78 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and reaching front side trigger. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Simple, direct path to baseball with a line drive plane through extension. Primarily worked between the gaps but flashed the bat speed to turn barrel and work to pull side as well. Stayed balanced throughout and showed good feel for the barrel. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch with a simple leg lift delivery. Stays flexed on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Long, loose arm circle at take back and released from a low three-quarters to near side arm slot. Fastball generated some running actions to arm side sitting in the low to mid 70's, topped at 74 miles per hour. Slider showed 9/4 shape with loose spin and short tilt. Maintains arm speed with a changeup offering that flashed some wiggle to arm side in the mid 60's. Consistently stayed off barrel and induced weak, ground ball contact.
