2020 Fall East Coast Showcase
Zachery Broderick is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Fairfield, CT who attends Fairfield Warde HS. Zachery is a strong and gifted baseball player with projectable upside. He has a sound fundamental base that should allow his already sound game to improve. In addition to being a solid prospect, Zachery is also an advanced achiever in the classroom. He ran a 7.42 60 yard dash. A primary LHP, Zachery shows consistent ability to throw strikes with three pitches that project. His tall and stout frame, combined with a consistent mechanical operation allows the big lefty to work down the hill with routine effort. There is some deception in his 3/4 arm slot and long arm action. He works off his active 80-84 mph fastball that plays up in velocity due to its late, heavy, sinking life. His 72 mph slider shows consistent sweeping action. Its late break makes it tough for hitters to track and get their barrels to. His 76 mph change-up is tunneled from his FB slot and has late tumble at the dish. At first base, Zachery shows sound athleticism. His quicker feet allow him to position well. His glovework is consistent and his pure arm stroke allow his 86 mph throws to reach their target with firm consistency. At the plate, Zachery has a noticeable power hitters approach. He has a balanced set at the ready and loads well on the backside. He gets his strong hands on course to contact and has some lift in his barrel. he can strike the ball well when his timing is right. There is a lot to like in Zachery's overall game. He has projectable ability at a couple of positions and can swing the bat. Should he dedicate himself to a consistent workout routine that includes time in the weight room, there is no doubt he can play at the next level.
