2006 PG Pitcher/Catcher Indoor-Feb 11-12
Tyler Bugna is a 2006 RHP with a 6'0'', 195 lb. frame from Patterson NY, who attends Carmel HS. He has a mature build with good present strength in his upper body and limited projection. Bugna throws with a delivery and arm action that looks like it's been cloned from Roger Clemens, with the short, compact arm action and the power, straight line extension out front. He repeated his mechanics very well. Bugna's fastball had plenty of juice for a winter effort for a pitcher from New York, topping out at 85 with good downhill angle through the plate. Bugna's curveball was 69 mph with fair spin and a short break. What we'd suggest for Bugna is look at Clemens and sees what has worked for him and that arm action; a Slider and Split Finger, and give those a try if he hasn't already. The arm action is good for those pitches. Overall, Bugna is an interesting follow with good arm strength and the potential to keep improving.
