Jace Roossien is a 2024 C/IF/OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Nahant, MA who attends Phillips Academy. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate and receives the ball out front, longer transfer, gains some ground with lower half and will continue to refine overall footwork, short arm action with a three-quarters release, shows accuracy on throws down to second base. Switch-hitter, more refined swing from right side in this look; high hand set and back elbow at the plate with some wrap at start, long swing path through the zone but shows fluidity to path and a consistent handle for the barrel, ball comes off well when squared. High hand and back elbow start from left side as well, uses a toe tap trigger, occasionally gets around the ball and over rotates in swing, worked the middle and pull side parts of the field with occasional lift. Excellent student.
