Kyle Beverley is a 2008 3B/OF/2B with a 5'10'', 181 lb. frame from Midvale, UT who attends Cottonwood HS. He has a short, compact build with surprising strength. Beverley lists himself as a primary third baseman and went through defensive drills in the outfield but we'd be surprised if coaches and scouts at the next level didn't look at him immediately as a second baseman. He has the quickness and speed (6.74) for that position and showed good actions and plenty of arm strength. Beverley may have the combination of athletic ability and make up on defense that enables him to play multiple positions interchangeably without it affecting the rest of his game. Beverley really stood out offensively in Cincinnati. He had an outstanding approach at the plate and surprising power for his size and swing type. Beverley stays short and quick to the ball and drive it hard all over the field. He looked like he had a plan at the plate and hit with top level confidence. He also showed himself to be a very good baserunner with plus speed underway. Overall, Beverely was a very impressive prospect who opened some eyes in Cincinnati, including ours. He's a good student as well.
