Rylan Laird is a 2019 3B/RHP/OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Bogart, GA who attends North Oconee HS. Large and projectable frame with room to continue to fill out physically. Ran a 7.37 second 60 yard dash. Primary third baseman, moves to the baseball in the infield with short steps and actions that play well at his primary third base position, showed the ability to throw from multiple arm angles with a loose arm and plenty of strength across the diamond, topped out at 84 mph from the infield. Secondary righthanded pitcher, slight crossfire delivery with developing use of his lower half, small arm circle through the back up to a high 3/4 arm slot, arm stays on time to the point of release allowing him to attack the zone with his fastball and curveball combination of pitches, fastball topped out at 84 mph, curveball has depth and 11-to-5 shape. Lefthanded hitter, long swing path with a downward plane to the baseball, collapses his back side, gap to gap hitter flashing potential pop. Good student. Named to 2018 Fall Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
