Cristian Otero is a 2020 SS/2B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Miami Killian Senior High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, light actions on feet, fields the ball out front and shows a quick transfer out of glove, works through the ball well, smoothness to actions overall, low effort release and gets on top of throws, accurate across with arm strength that will continue to develop with added physicality. Switch-hitter, more advanced from the right side currently; begins with a wide and bent knee stance with a high hand set. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball, utilizes a contact oriented approach and repeats mechanics well, simple through the zone and can work to all fields. Slightly open and bent knee stance from the left side, similar swing path and mechanics, upper body dominant but shows ability to pull the ball with a linear stroke. Excellent student.
