Tyke Tabor is a 2021 OF/SS with a 6-0 162 lb. frame from Jackson, TN who attends University School Of Jackson. Medium, athletic frame with a high waist and room to add strength. Recorded a 6.77 sixty-yard dash time. Primary outfielder with a fairly sound defensive skill set; slightly longer actions into and through the fielding process with proper funnel off his front foot, long full arm action and arm strength recorded up to 86 MPH. Secondary middle-infielder with long, fluid strides into the fielding process, clean funnel out in front and ability to throw from all necessary arm angles. Uses lower half well to work into and through the throwing process, recording accurate throws up to 83 MPH across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with high hands and a high back elbow. Uses a low hover trigger for timing, minimal weight shift with good posture at point of contact. Middle-of-the field approach with fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills, developing barrel accuracy and some present bat speed. Took a turn on the mound, working in the upper-70s from a fairly simple operation with good tempo and efficient lower half movements down the slope. Strike thrower with ability to command both halves of the plate from a higher three-quarters slot, flashing arm-side life when in sync and on time. Secondary offerings are still in the developmental stages with changeup showing best at present, flashing potential for true swing-and-miss pitch as he adds more velocity. Breaking ball varies in shape, showing better when throw at higher velocities and conviction, replicates arm speed fairly well with both secondaries. Excellent Student.
