Erick Gonzalez is a 2020 OF/1B with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Marblehead, MA who attends Marblehead High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength to frame. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball and reads well off the bat, attacks the ball and works behind it, fields ball out front and works into a compact arm action, gets tall at release and can continue to implement additional lower half into release, accuracy to throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set in the box and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Coils onto backside in load, stays compact with swing path and employs a middle of the field approach. Shows bat speed through the zone, linear plane and creates barreled contact to the middle of the field when on time. Good student.
