Michael Giammarino is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Basking Ridge, NJ who attends Gill St Bernard's. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary left handed pitcher with a rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum well. Quick arm circle and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed good run to arm side in the mid 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Flashed a slider from a slightly lower arm slot that generated good tilt to glove side in the low 70's. Also flashed a straight changeup in the upper 60's. Effectively worked to each edge of the plate with fastball and utilized off speed late in counts. Also worked out defensively from first base showing clean footwork with good range off the bag. Funnels out front and worked through exchange with fluidity. Deep arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot creating accurate carry to the bag at 77 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Compact hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent and displayed present bat speed to finish. Ball jumped off the barrel well when squared producing good carry to the gaps.
