Blake Carey is a 2020 C/3B with a 6-1 184 lb. frame from Whitefish Bay, WI who attends University School-Milwaukee. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Clean, loose exchanges while working through transfers. Stays on back side while released from a compact three-quarters slot. Throws produced accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 73 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.13. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Creates slightly hand coil at load and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a line drive plane. Stays balanced throughout while employing a mid field approach. Flashed the occasional bat speed to turn the barrel to contact and work to pull side with strength at contact. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
