Alexis Velez is a 2019 C/OF with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Notre Dame HS. Recorded a 7.59 second 60-yard dash time. Medium overall frame with room for additional strength. Primary catcher with a longer arm path and deliberate actions. Feet and arm work well into the throw. Accurate throws down to the bag with arm strength recorded up to 71 mph and a best pop time of 2.14 seconds. Righthanded hitter with a wide base, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Pull side approach with an upper half dominant swing. Looking to impact the ball with strength out in front. Short and inside hand path to contact. Very handsy swing and would benefit from additional incorporation of the lower half. All fields contact and approach with a very contact-oriented swing. Great student.
