Perry Raines is a 2022 C/RHP/SS with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Round Rock, TX who attends Stony Point HS. Compact frame with a slender build and room to add in the future. Ran a 7.35 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Sets up in a side straddle stance. Gains short ground out. Longer arm action into throws topping at 70 miles per hour and a workout pop of 2.18. Lefthanded hitter with an open stance and long leg lift trigger. Rotational lower half actions while swinging with intent. Middle of the field approach but will pull the ball as well. Has some jump off the barrel when squared. Secondary righthanded pitcher with smooth mechanics in delivery. Works directional to the plate with some drive off the back side. Throws from a high three-quarters slot and creates angle down the mound. Good command of the fastball working in on the hands and topping out at 76 miles per hour. Fading life on the changeup at 68 miles per hour. Excellent student as well.
