Jarrett Korson is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Lake Elsinore, CA who attends Santiago High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to develop moving forward. Primary righthanded pitcher, shows balance to delivery with gather on backside, some drop and drive with lower half mechanics coming down the mound; short and compact arm action with quickness through the back working to a tight three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 86 mph early on with sinking life down in the zone, attacked hitters with the pitch and showed ability to work to glove side. Mixed in a nice changeup frequently up to 76 mph, shows consistent fading life down in the zone. Curveball offers tight rotation with 11-5 shape and depth up to 71 mph. Takes short steps moving towards the baseball, fields the ball to the side, extra step through release, short arm action with carry out of his hand. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Short and direct swing with a subtle weight shift through lower half, shows strength to hands. Occasionally gets mistimed but gets the barrel to the ball well, projects with additional lower half. Excellent student.
