Nelson Perez is a 2020 RHP/2B, OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Felix Varela Senior. Medium build with lots of room to fill throughout his frame. Ran a 7.73 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, works from the windup with deliberate actions that starts with a belt high leg lift, takes his arm back to a plunge prior to a quick arm action up to a 3/4 arm slot, stays tall on his backside and pitches with uphill carry to the plate, fastball topped out at 75 mph and is straight to the plate, mixes in a curveball with 12-to-6 shape with depth and will lower his arm slot on the pitch at times, pitched very effectively in his three innings of work missing bats and generating swings and misses. Secondary outfielder, worked out in the outfield, fields the baseball cleanly moving to it with short steps, similar arm strength as on the mound. Right-handed hitter, sets up at the plate with a high hand set, downhill swing plane, long swing with young bat speed, middle of the field approach.
