Treven Crowley is a 2020 RHP/3B, SS with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Newman, CA who attends Hilmar. Large frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced, simple rock step delivery. Low leg lift and stays tall on back side at gather. Works to the plate with tall and fall actions and works over front side well and extension. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Produced good arm speed with a fastball that created heavy sink with run to arm side in the mid 80's, topped at 86 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tight spin and late depth. Maintained arm speed with a changeup offering that had solid fade and sink in the mid 70's. Showed good feel for all three pitched and consistently worked to each edge of the plate. Very good presence on the mound with an advanced knowledge for pitching. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels baseball from a deeper position and works through transition with developing fluidity. Showed good arm strength released from a high three-quarters arm slot topping at 85 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Creates coil with front hip and load and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Direct hand path to contact with a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Flashed the present bat speed to turn the barrel to contact and generated hard, loud contact to the pull side gap throughout batting practice. Good student. Named to the 2017 NorCal Showcase Top Prospect List.
