Nick Scanlon is a 2020 RHP/ with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Johnston, IA who attends Johnston. Medium frame with an athletic build and beginnings of strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Works through gather quickly and utilized drop and drive lower half actions to the plate. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum to target. Clean arm circle at gather and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Displayed good feel for the bottom of the zone with a fastball that flashed some run to arm side int he low 80's, topped at 83 miles per hour. Curveball showed looser spin with occasional depth when staying on top of offering in the low 70's. Primarily looked to attack hitters with fastball offering and induced weak, ground ball contact.
