Zach Neese is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Cedar Falls, IA who attends Cedar Falls. Showed some good speed and athleticism, running a 7.08 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher with a medium frame and room to fill out and add strength. Starts from the windup with a small side step into a leg lift that reaches just above the belt. Has drop and drive actions down the mound, landing slightly closed before coming across the body and delivering from an over the top slot. Fastball has late life to the arm side at 77-to-80 miles per hour, tying up right-handed hitters late. Shows feel to spin a curveball with 11-5 shape and tumbling action at 65 miles per hour, and can command the zone with confidence while attacking hitters with excellent tempo. Secondary outfielder that works through the ball well, fielding out front with some quickness to exchanges. Has a compact arm action into a three-quarter slot, with developing arm strength at 78 miles per hour. Has an even stance at the plate, with a leg lift trigger and high back elbow. Has a direct path to contact, keeping the hands in tight with a line drive barrel plane. Gets some good jump off the barrel to the pull side when getting the hands extended, executing a middle of the field to pull side approach consistently. Excellent student.
