Andrew Carreon is a 2022 3B/RHP with a 5-7 198 lb. frame from El Paso, TX who attends Irvin. Medium, broad shouldered build with present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 8.62 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, takes short steps moving towards the ball, fields the ball out front with some bend at waist, full arm action through the back, gets under throws at times, shows balance on the charge, arm strength will continue to develop moving forward. Also pitched, leg lift just below belt with hip turn at top; gets rotational with release, throws easy from a high three-quarters release point. Short stride down the mound, works across body some, gets on top of the ball. Fastball topped out at 71 mph, able to get hitters off balance, subtle life to arm side and able to miss bats up in the zone; flashed a curveball at 58 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; upper body dominant swing. Utilizes a quick leg lift trigger, can incorporate additional lower half into weight shift. Does a nice job of hitting the ball out front, remains linear with path and shows looseness to hands. Shows a handle for the barrel and gets it to the ball, line drive contact when squared and on time.
