Casey Young is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Winterset, IA who attends Winterset HS. Solid athletic build with very good present strength for his age. Smooth delivery and arm action on the mound, lands hard on his front side but gets over it well, low energy mechanics with a loose arm out front. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight and thrown consistently around the zone. Primary fastball pitcher this outing, showed good spin and depth on his curveball and feel for his change up and can throw those pitches more often as he continues to develop. Has two-way prospect tools. 7.09 runner, left handed hitter who hits from an upright, even stance with a simple front side trigger and a short and direct path to the ball, has present bat speed with a fluid middle of the field approach, showed power and the ability to drive the ball hard and consistently. Elite level student.
