Hunter Smith is a 2020 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Taylorsville, UT who attends Taylorsville HS. Projectable high waisted athletic build, has some present strength with plenty of room for more. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open start with a small leg lift trigger, wrapped barrel start, arm generated swing with some developing bat speed, can incorporate his hands more in driving the barrel, ball comes off the barrel pretty well and he was consistently on time, middle of the field line drive contact. 7.54 runner, gets low and behind the ball well at the corner infield spots, has a quick exchange from glove to hand, easy release with some carry to his throws. Also pitched, hip coil delivery, hides the ball well and creates deception, arm is loose and easy. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, lots of heavy sinking and running life. Slider is a good second pitch with some two plane bite when he stays behind it. Developing change up. Good overall athlete who should keep improving with physical maturity. Good student.
