Roy Jennings is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Rio Rancho, NM who attends V. Sue Cleveland. Large, athletic frame with wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.89 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with fluid, athletic footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Displayed good lateral range as well to the baseball. Clean glove actions and pick up and worked through transitions quickly. Maintained momentum to target while released from a loose arm action that produced accurate carry to the bag at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an event, balanced stance and high back elbow set. Showed present bat speed and strength at contact with a simple, repeatable line drive barrel plane. Consistently produced sharp, loud contact off the barrel with the bat head control to work to all fields with ease. Also pitched showing a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Compact arm action at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Stays on line while working to the plate. Fastball generated occasional plane through the zone in the low to mid 70's, topped at 75 miles per hour. Curveball had 12/6 shape with loose, early break in the mid 60's. Attacked to zone effectively and challenged hitters to the bottom of the zone. Good student. Named to the 2018 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
