Willard Smith is a 2023 RHP/3B with a 6-0 156 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends Ola. Primary right-handed pitcher with a medium frame and slender build. Recorded a 7.13 second 60-yard dash time. Staggered feet start from first base side of the slab with short side step and higher lift. Medium arm swing to high 3/4 arm slot getting down the slope. Direct to the plate with fastball up to 82 mph (1994 RPM) and works the changeup in same lane around 75 mph (1790 RPM). Curveball in the low-70s (1967 RPM) rounds out his three pitch mix. Strike-thrower with all three and the ability to command the changeup on consecutive pitches. Secondary third baseman with quick release on throws across at 81 mph. Moves well laterally to both sides and ability to drop arm slot moving to his left. Right-handed hitter with balanced setup in the box and high back elbow slot. Short knee-lift trigger stride and rotational upper half swing path. Leverage in the frame with strength out front to the pull side with lofted impact. Good student.
