Joseph Pendleton is a 2022 RHP/C with a 6-0 193 lb. frame from Waco, TX who attends Midway. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout frame, has strength to lower half and additional room to grow. Ran a 7.31 60-yard dash. Listed as a primary righthanded pitcher, did not pitch this event. Graded out best as a first baseman in this look, fields the ball out front, comes through hit well and shows nice energy working to the ball on the charge, tight arm action at release, shows carry out of hand. Compact set behind the dish, receives the ball out front, gains some ground with lower half, around the bag with throws. Utilizes a crow hop from the outfield, can incorporate additional lower half into release, fields out front and shows a similar short arm action at release, occasionally gets under throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Gets closed moving into contact and has movement to hands pre-pitch; easy swing with a shorter stroke through the zone. Works with a mostly linear path and shows ability to create jump off the barrel with some backspin to his pull side; steady line drive contact. Named to 14U South Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
