Jake Gutierrez is a 2020 C/OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from La Verne, CA who attends Bonita. Medium frame with a slender build and room to fill out. Ran a 7.52 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Sets up in a low side straddle stance. Receives the ball out front. Short steps coming out while gaining some towards the bag. Tight and compact release with carry to the bag when getting on top of the ball. Topping out at 74 miles per hour and popping a 2.12 during workouts. Righthanded hitter with a narrow and even stance and high back elbow. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Linear and short through the zone with a middle of the field to pull side approach.
