Johnathan Shell is a 2021 OF/MIF with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Fontana, CA. Compact frame with an athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Primary outfielder with clean footwork while traveling to and through the baseball. Picks up baseball out front and worked through exchange quickly. Created accurate throws with developing carry topping at 73 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Creates some top half coil at load and works to contact with a level, line drive barrel plane. Stays balanced throughout swing while displaying developing feel for the barrel. Primarily looked to work to the middle of the field and showed best contact when attacking the baseball out front. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student.
