Steven Vasquez is a 2021 LHP/1B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Buckeye, AZ who attends Odyssey Institute for Advanced and International S. The primary left-handed pitcher has a big frame and lean build, shows some present arm speed across body from a three-quarters arm slot. Gets to balance point with a slow and smooth delivery, lands with good linear direction before naturally falling to the glove side. Flashes command of both fastball and curveball. Fastball sits in the low-80s, up to 82 miles per hour. Curveball has good depth with 2-to-8 break, and Vasquez shows the ability to mix both with some advanced pitchability. Secondary first baseman with a good arm and some clean actions. At the plate, works from an upright and slightly open stance. Has a medium leg lift trigger and high back elbow with some linear shift into contact. Flashes of bat speed with the ability to turn the barrel. Best contact when connecting out front and working to the pull side.
