Marty Kaplan is a 2022 OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Santa Monica, CA who attends Harvard-Westlake. Long and athletic build with plenty of physical project and room to get stronger. 7.03 runner, showed good athleticism in the outfield, fields the ball out front and has a quick exchange to release, throws have good carry. Left handed hitter, hits from an upright open stance with a hanging leg lift load trigger, wraps the barrel in his load, upper cut swing and will top spin the ball, front side tends to pull off the ball early looking to pull and lift, has some feel for the barrel and would benefit from a more level approach. Would be interesting to see on the mound given his athleticism, size and how his arm works. Very good student.
