Alex Rakas is a 2019 SS/2B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Oswego, IL who attends Aurora Central Catholic HS. Large frame with wiry strength. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.04 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop, reads the baseball well and showed fluid actions while working through pick up. Clean exchanges while working through transition and released from a compact arm slot. Throws produced some on line carry to the bag topping at 77 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a balanced, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Works to contact with linear lower half actions. Direct path to contact with a naturally lifted barrel plane. Stayed balanced throughout while working to the middle of the field but also flashed the bat speed to turn the barrel and aggressively work to pull side. Good student as well.
