Jude Almaraz is a 2023 OF with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Brophy College Preparatory. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, take short steps moving toward the ball and gets low, utilizes a high crow hop for momentum, developing actions with lower half through the ball, shows quickness to arm, occasionally gets under the ball at release. Also pitched, simple mechanics on the mound and works quickly, long arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Pitched to contact, topped out at 67 mph and showed some sinking action to changeup when down in the zone. Righthanded hitter, begins with a square stance in the box and barrel tilt at start; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball and shows looseness and quickness to hands. Creates separation out front and creates lift with swing path; keeps hands back well and shows back spin off the barrel when squared with present bat speed. Very good student.
