Ian Fernandez is a 2020 RHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Coral Gables, FL who attends Miami Sunset Senior HS. Lean projectable frame with long limbs and room to fill out. Primary pitcher who only threw during the event. Long and loose arm stroke with some whippy arm speed and a three-quarters arm slot at the release. Simple delivery that he repeats well with a side step into a leg lift at the belt. Lands online down the mound with good extension through release. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with some spin to it and has late bite. Solid depth to the pitch and can throw it in any count with some command. Straight fastball but has some feel for location. Good pitchability and got outs well. Good student.
