Joshua Martinez is a 2023 C/2B, MIF, OF, UT with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends Salesian. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, slight turn in drills, receives the ball out front and shows flexibility to actions, short arm action through the back, strides open with lower half, shows carry to second base. Moves well in the infield on feet, shows feel for actions and repeats, multiple slots on throws with accuracy and carry across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; strength in lower half, shows looseness to hands, timing components at start of swing. Long swing path through the zone, utilizes a double toe tap trigger for timing, gets arms extended and shows quickness, projects with added strength. Very good student.
