Jaylen Cruz is a 2022 OF/RHP/3B with a 5-7 138 lb. frame from Bayside, NY who attends Holy Cross. Medium frame with slender, projectable build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.62 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, compact delivery, throws from tighter three quarters slot, gates hip some and will get misdirected to the plate as a result, fastball worked 70-74 mph with good ability to work to both sides. Mixed in slider with cutter-like action, did a very good job of missing barrels and throwing strikes. Hits from slightly open stance, higher hand set, quickness to hands through zone, line drive plane, showed ability to work to all fields. Longer strides to the ball in the infield, solid footwork overall, stays balanced, fields clean and threw 75 mph across the diamond. Also took outfield reps, active footwork through the ball, looseness to arm stroke with solid arm strength, clocked up to 75 mph.
