Mikey Rodriguez is a 2022 OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Pelham, NY who attends Salesian. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and some present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.17 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, approaches the ball well, fields the ball out front, quick arm action through the back working to an over-the-top release point, works around the bag and ball comes out cleanly, can continue to incorporate additional lower half into release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Hands start by ear, shows quickness to hands, longer path through the zone and shows jump off the barrel when squared. Generates lift to path and best carry coming off to pull gap, has tools to improve upon moving forward. Good student.
