Tyler Dean is a 2022 C/1B, 3B with a 5-11 205 lb. frame from Hinsdale, IL who attends Benet Academy. Medium frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary catcher with a slightly taller stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground towards the bag while working out of crouch. Quick, clean exchanges while working through transition. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot generating good carry to the bag at 75 mph, best workout pop time of 1.96. Right handed hitter with a balanced, even stance and simple front side trigger. Clean hand path to contact with a linear barrel plane through extension. Displayed strong hands at contact with the ability to drive the ball with intent. Primarily worked to the middle of the field between the gaps. Very good student as well.
