Ryland Rangel is a 2024 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Reagan. Medium frame with a lean athletic build. Ran a 7.61 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, good mover on the dirt with intent to actions and comfort to both sides, plays low at it and adjusts on the move, good arm strength allows him to adjust slot and make strong accurate throws, up to 84 across. Athleticism works in the outfield as well, comfort working through it with same strong arm and accurate throws. Also pitches, quick delivery with a live arm out of a low three-quarters slot, sinks the fastball with life to the arm side, shows feel for two distinct breaking balls too, more sweep on the slider and vertical action on the curveball, dominated in his look. Right-handed hitter, open start and moves in on time, short quick stroke with fast hands and feel to create launch out front, can get slightly uphill but comfortable with the barrel and showed a good bit of jump off the barrel throughout. Great student. Named to 2022 South Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
