John Wimmer is a 2023 SS/MIF, OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Rock Hill, SC who attends Rock Hill. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 6.91 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with some bend at waist, comes through it nicely with footwork, showed the ability to make an adjustment mid-stride on ball, plays low and shows athleticism, gets fast at times, works around the bag with throws across the diamond and shows carry. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Shows looseness to hands in swing, best contact when getting extended out front, incorporates physical strength into swing. Gets rotational at times, loud jump with line drive contact to the gaps, still has projection remaining and nice tools to build off of. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
